The fact that motion analysis has not been standardized is therefore a major problem in motion analysis education. We conducted a review of the literature with the objectives of determining the reasons for the difficulty in standardizing motion analysis and identifying relevant issues in school education. The results showed that there were differences in interpretation of terms and definitions, and that motion analysis was performed with several different objectives. Measures to standardize terms and definitions and to avoid differences in interpretation of motion analysis among clinical and educational facilities are necessary to enable students to apply the knowledge they learned at professional schools in clinical practice.
