 note = {110004627933, 源氏物語における二重否定表現「ぬことなし」は,使用範囲が限定されるものである。基本的には,否定の助動詞が接続して使用される動詞にかぎられている。そして,その意味も,「あく」のような満足の程度,「おぼしいたる」のような配慮のいきとどき,といった心的な意味のみである。それゆえ,源氏物語での「ぬことなし」は,二重否定をしめす表現形式として一般化していないとするのが妥当である。現代語の「ないことはない」が一連の「語句」として文型辞典などに掲載されるのと比較すると,まだその前段階にあるとかんがえられる。, The double negation "Nukotonashi" in The Tale of Genji has a limited range of use It is fundamentally restricted to the verb for which it is employed in conjunction with a negative auxiliary verb. The verbs are restricted to those which show the meaning of 'a satisfactory evaluation' ("Aku") and 'careful consideration' ("Oboshiitaru"). So it is appropriate to suppose that it has not become common to define "Nukotonashi" in The Tale of Genji as showing a double negation. "Nukotonashi" may be considered as a prestage of the double negative, compared with "Naikotowanai" in modem Japanese, which is listed in the dietionary.},
