Based on a grammaticality judgement test of the Let's construction, it is suggested that learners make apparently contradictory judgements even within the sentences of the same construction. Learners' written explanations on ungrammaticality also reveal that they employ structural and semantic criteria, which can occasionally co-exist in contradiction.
