Osterwalder brings to light in his history of the influence of Pestalozzi (Wirkungsgeschichte) a feverish personal cult of the educator. Osterwalder pursues this demythologizing study while emphasizing that Pestalozzi's "pedagogical methodism" is a kind of fiction. Is Osterwalder's argumentation really correct? This paper shows that this so-called "fiction" is in reality of Osterwalder's own making, based on questionable points of his own interpretation of Pestalozzi's My Inquiries.},
