This paper is then developed with a re-examination of Klafki's interpretation of the "theory of three stages". Klafki argues that there is no continuity of thought and theory between Pestalozzi's Letter about my time in Stans and his My Inquiries, which was published two years before the former. This paper shows that such an argumentation causes an incorrect interpretation, and explains the meaning of Pestalozzi's "theory of three stages" as it can be brought about by understanding the continuity between the two texts.},
