In this paper I have focused on articles from newspapers published between April 2004 and January 2005 in Kobe. We could identify several different types of articles reporting on the earthquake. First, there are articles reporting memories of the disaster ten years ago. Second, are those reporting on the process of reconstruction of apartments damaged by the earthquake. The third type are those drawing comparisons between the earthquake and many natural disasters which happened in 2004, including those of typhoons and the Chuetsu Earthquake and the Great Earthquake and Tsunami in Indonesia. And finally some other articles, such as one reporting on the birth and death of a child during the period of the earthquake, using an interview with the parents, show us most impressively the fact that ten years have passed.}, pages = {37--48}, title = {震災から10年ということ : 非日常の中の日常 : 1995年西宮(11)}, year = {2006} }
