| 内容記述 | By comparing the history of the left-wing Fukien School with right-wing Kiangsu School, this paper aims to examine the transformation of national education in Hong Kong. Fukien School and Kiangsu School, regardless of their different political affiliation, used Mandarin instead of Cantonese as the teaching language and put emphasis on national history and cultural heritage. Following the changing political climate, Fukien School has secured a more important role in education in Hong Kong. In particular, it provided a place for the new immigrants from mainland China to receive education. Kiangsu School has also adopted a more neutral and localized political stance. The transformation of the two schools shows the changing identities of educators and the changing nature of education in Hong Kong. | |||||||
