| 内容記述 | Charles BALLY のモダリティ理論について考察を加えることが本研究の目的である。モダリティというものは極めてとらえにくい範躊であり, その定義も研究者によって随分と異なる。「広い」概念であると称されることがある BALLY のモダリティ概念について論ずる前段階として, フランス語学の分野において, 一般にこの概念がどう捉えられているのかを検証する必要がある。(その1) では導入編として, いわゆる文法書においてモダリティがどのように取り扱われているかをみた。 | |||||||

| 内容記述 | The purpose of this study is to reflect upon Charles BALLY's theory of modality and try to make clear what modality is in his theory. As is widely known, and as I would like to show here too, it is extremely difficult to define modality in general. In the field of linguistics, not only in the field of French linguistics but also in the fields of Japanese and English linguistics, all linguists have not yet reached an agreement on the definition of this notion. In this paper, as an introduction, I would like to examine how "modality "or "modalities" are dealt with in three books on grammar or linguistics. This constitutes a preliminary discussion of Bally's definition which is often regarded as a wide one. | |||||||
